Sculpt Nouveau Concentrated Patinas are a series of traditional cold patina finishes for most metals. They include black patinas for aluminum, bronze, brass, copper, iron, steel, pewter, lead and tin as well as a brown patina for bronze, brass and copper. All require dilution with distilled water before use.
Aged Copper Patina is a classic cold brown patina for bronze, brass, and copper. Dilute with distilled water to 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (patina to distilled water) before use depending on your finish.
Blackened Aluminum Patina darkens aluminum to gray or black. Common dilution ratios are 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (patina to distilled water). More concentrated solutions react darker and faster than dilute.
Blackened Copper Patina darkens bronze, brass and copper. Dilute with distilled water to 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (patina to distilled water). Expect the first light coats to be brown. Additional coats bring more dark grays and blacks.
Blackened Copper Bath Patina darkens bronze, brass and copper through immersion. Dilute with distilled water to 1:4 to 1:9 (patina to distilled water) for most bath processes. Test a small sample to find which dilution ratio works for your project. For non-immersion projects, use much stronger concentrations from 1:1 to 3:1 (patina to distilled water). Expect the first light coats to be brown. Additional coats bring more dark grays and blacks.
Blackened PLT Patina is a classic cold black finish for pewter, lead and tin. This patina is commonly used to darken lead came in stained glass window construction. Dilute with distilled water to 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (patina to distilled water). Lighter concentrations and shorter reaction times result in a gray patina while stronger mixtures will be black.
Blackened Steel Patina darkens iron and all non-stainless steels to a deep black. Dilute with distilled water before use. Common dilution ratios are 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (patina to distilled water).
Concentrated Patinas are sold in 8oz., 32oz., 1 gallon and 5 gallon sizes. Spray tops are included with 8oz. and 32oz. bottles. Coverage depends on the dilution ratio used. One gallon of Concentrated Patina diluted 1:1 with distilled water covers about 400 sq. ft.
